Mr. Joshua Topsy, a special gift from God, was welcomed into the loving arms of Mrs. Ella Mae Topsy-Callis on June 29, 1941 in Edna, Texas.

Joshua accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He was baptized and joined the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church pastured by the late Reverend Jackson of Edna, Texas.

Joshua attended the Edna Public Schools graduating from Carver School in 1959. December 1963, Joshua joined the United States Army to serve his country. After receiving an Honorable Discharge in December, 1969, Joshua moved to Austin, Texas and was employed with The City of Austin and Custom’s Plumbing.

Upon Joshua’s move to Austin, Texas he entered in marriage with Ms. Jerreldine Bradford. To this union 3 children were born.

Joshua heard the Trumpets from Heaven along with the Angels calling his name to return back home to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, November 15, 2011.

Joshua was preceded in death by his son Douglas Topsy, mother Mrs. Ella Mae Topsy-Callis, sisters Earnestine, Faye and Geneva; brother Tony; uncles John, Henry, Marshall and Jim Topsy.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 41 years, Mrs. Jerreldine Topsy; three daughters, Tina Topsy of Austin, Texas, Trish Kuykendall (Fred) and Irish Mangum (Barry) of Wharton, Texas; two sons, Zachary Shawn Oakmon, Sr. (Pam) and Marlin Topsy of Austin, Texas; step-daughters, Shirley Wilson (Alvin), Ima Goodman (Larry) and Teri Fisher (Billy) of Austin, Texas; step-sons, Dwight Manor, Gary Manor, Billy Manor and Michael Manor of Austin, Texas; sisters, Gladys Cockron (Freddy), Aurtelia Rhodes (Milton) and Clover Jones (Rudy) all of Houston, Texas; brothers, Al Callis (Linda) and Earl Callis (Bonnie) of Houston, Texas, Raymond Callis (Yvonne) and Andrew Callis of Edna, Texas and Arnold Callis of Port Comfort, Texas; two aunts, Mrs. Betty Newsom of Houston, Texas and Mrs. Florence McDonald of Rochester, New York; 30 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren with a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends.
