Leslie Smith, 63, of Austin, TX, peacefully departed this earth November 12, 2011. Leslie Smith was born in Austin, TX, September 16, 1948 to Mr. and Mrs. Leon Smith where at an early age he attended Nineteenth Street Baptist Church. He graduated from L. C. Anderson High School, then attended Southern University and Huston Tillotson College. Leslie then served in the United States Army for 23 years and was a well respected Sergeant. He later was married in matrimonial bliss with Dianne Smith on October 1, 1986. He retired from the City of Austin after 25 years of service at the Department of Health and Human Services.

Dianne Smith, 49, of Austin, TX, peacefully departed this earth November 13, 2011. Dianne Smith was born in Hillsboro, TX, February 2, 1962. Dianne attended Lanier High School. After attending High School she began working at Brackenridge Hospital for several years. Dianne then began working for Austin Independent School District for 15 years where she retired.

At an early age, Dianne Smith accepted the Jehovah's Witness Christianity from her mother Helen McDonald. She devoted herself to her husband and her kids completely on a daily basis. Dianne was always helping someone in need of assistance while keeping her head held high. She was a woman of her word and was never a stranger to discipline when it concerned her children. Dianne's husband Leslie was very quiet but more than dedicated to his family. He provided for them through his job by being a hard and devoted worker. Leslie and Diane Smith were the type of parents many children would want. They provided vast amounts of love, time and devotion. Leslie and Dianne will forever be the start of the Smith legacy and their children will keep this name obtainable through out the ends of time. Though we know that Leslie and Diane are sleeping in death we will soon see them again in the paradise on earth. As it was said in Luke 23:43, "Truly I tell you today, you will be with me in paradise."

Leslie Smith is preceded in death by his father; Leon Smith and sister Charlotte Selby. Leslie leaves to carry on his memory his mother Lorine Lewis Smith, three brothers; Gary Smith, Leon Smith, Jr. and Calvin Smith. Dianne Smith is preceded in death by her husband Leslie Smith, sister Shirley Carothers (Matthew). Dianne leaves to carry on her memory her parents, Helen McDonald and Willie Harris, Sr. both of Austin, TX; one sister, Sandra Harris of Austin, TX and brother Willie Harris (Deitra) of Round Rock, TX; two aunts, Jewel (Michael) Newman of Austin, Texas and Mattie (Charles) Brooks of Hillsboro, Texas; one uncle, Lewis (Joyce) McDonald; and a host of nieces, nephews and special friends.

Leslie Smith and Dianne Smith leave to carry on the legacy of the Smith name with their five daughters Tylonda Alysia Smith, Leslie Nicole Smith, Stephanie Shalee Smith, Sarah Charmane Smith, and Sonfa Lovings-Hicks; two sons, David Alexander Smith and Leslie Shane Smith, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved and respected them.
