Virginia Lott Lewis was born August 22, 1924 to the late Oral Rochester Lott, Sr. and Viola Madison Lott. She departed this life on November 5, 2011 in Downey, California.

Virginia attended the Austin Public Schools and graduated from the old L. C. Anderson High School in 1941. She completed her higher education at Tillotson College, now Huston-Tillotson University. She was a devoted member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She loved her sorority.

Virginia married York Gibson, Jr. in 1945. To this union they had two children, York Gibson, III of Austin, Texas and Darrelyn Gibson Biddle of Cerritos, California. She later married James Roy Lewis of Lubbock, Texas.

Virginia was an educator with the Austin Independent School District for over twenty five years until she resigned. Her second career was at Huston-Tilloston as Student Registrar until her retirement.

Virginia was a devoted member of Wesley United Methodist Church and granddaughter to Charles E. Madison, pastor and co-founder of the church until his demise.

Virginia moved from Austin to California in 1999 to be near her daughter and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving family members, four brothers, Oral Lott, Jr., twin brother Virgil C. Lott, Esq., Harry C. Lott and Leslie O'Ronald Lott, sisters-in-law, Kathryn Lott, Suzan H. Lott, Gloria Lott, niece Barbara Lott Bradley.

Virginia will be remembered by her devoted family. Survivors include two loving children, York Gibson, III of Austin and Darrelyn Biddle and son-in-law Ray Biddle of Cerritos, California, grandchildren, Ryan Biddle, Fullerton, California and Dere' Biddle of Cerritos, California, brother, Father Ira V. Lott, O.M.I. of San Antonio, Texas, nieces and nephews, Joycelyn Toliver and husband, Marshall of Round Rock, Texas, Oralyn Lott Bevineaux of Washington, D.C., Karla Lott Williams of Austin, Harriette Lott of Dallas, Texas, Adrienne Reeder and husband Sylvester, of Pearland, Texas, Keith Lott, Houston, Texas, Valore Lott, of Missouri City, Texas, Edith Hodge and husband Ira of Mico, Texas and Marc Lott, Austin, Texas, great nieces, nephews and numerous other relatives and friends.


Special thanks to Carrillo Manorís owner, husband and staff (Rowena and Mike Carrillo, Willie Manlogon, Delano DeLos Santos and Sarah Sta. Maria). There are so many thank youís that I could say that I donít know where to start. I will start by saying thank you for all the love, kindness, caring and countless hours of assistance that you gave my mom for the last 2Ĺ years. I could not have made it without you guys. You all were awesome and I will continue to thank you for a long time.
