Dr. Minister James Hollie Jr. was born on June 25, 1950 in Taylor, Texas. He Pass away August 29th 2011 in Jacksonville Arkansas. He was the first child born to James Robert Hollie, Sr. and Carrie L. Milligan.

James was baptized at an early age, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Thrall, Texas. He was the Assistant Pastor for Mt. Pleasant before he left for Jacksonville, Arkansas.

He went to Lincoln School and later transferred to Thrall High School. Then enlisted in The United States Army where he excelled to SGT/E5 and went on to get his Doctoral Degree. While in the military he received the Vietnam Campaign W/DVC, the National Defense Service Medal, and (2) good Conduct Medal's; the Vietnam Cross, the Gallantry Cross Vietnam W/Palm unit for Service in Vietnam, Republic of Vietnam campaign service medal.

In 1990 he received the Lau Bach teacher Lecture Action Award, 1996 Self Dream Award VAMC 2009- Appreciation from Mt. Pleasant Youth Bible Study Sunday School, 1995 Auto Bio–Group Health Technician from Dr. Jonathan Borens.

In 1972 James R. Hollie, Jr. met lead vocalist Minnie C. Nelson of the Brother Seven Band. A year later they were married and began to travel throughout the United States sharing their love for music. After ten years of marriage they departed to find their way in life. Thirty years later they were reunited on July 10, 2010. They confessed their love for one another that was never lost. Rev. Dr. James R. Hollie, Jr. relocated to Arkansas to be with his wife Elder Minnie Hollie. They both shared the same vision of winning souls for Christ. He became a member of Emmanuel Bible Fellowship Church; there he shared his wisdom with young men.

Dr. Minister James R. Hollie, Jr. memory will be cherished by his wife, Elder Minnie Hollie; mother, Carrie Hollie; sons, Minister Garry Bernard Hollie (Eula), Bradley Lewayne Hollie, Jerry Stanford (Barbara), Demon Stanford; daughters, Crystal Hollie-Stanford [has three children], Angela Stanford [has two children], Yolanda Rochelle Hollie-Maupin (DeAngelo), Stephanie Nicole Helm (Detaraus); sister, Doris Coulter; brother, Larry Hollie (Peggy); grandchildren, Garry Bernard Hollie, Jr., Ashley DeAnn Wilmore (Marcus), Aria Rayleen Helm, Cherrish Brandy Hollie, Elisheia Lee-Ann Casey, Seriah Heaven Jordan, Kylin Josiah Austin, Jadyn Maupin, Julia Savoy, Erika Apkan (Femi), Taryn Larry Savoy, Jr.; great-grandson, Mason Wilmore; nephews and nieces, Miranda and Antwan Lott, Shawn Coulter (Tiffany), Natalie Collazo, April Hollie, Camilya Neblett, Jarvis Neblett, Avery Neblett; great nephews and nieces, Quinton Johnson, Malachi Lott, Quincy Coulter, Jasmin Collazo, Ce' Yana Collazo; aunt and uncles, L. B. Gentry, Lizzie Jackson (D. W.), Ewellene McArther; a host of cousins, special friends and Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Family.
