Henry William Winsett III was born on October 5, 1955 in Columbus Ohio. He is the only son of Henry William Winsett Jr. and Mary Frankie Spratt and the only brother of Geraldine, Gwendolyn, and Carol. Henry attended school in Columbus and graduated from East High School and Capital University. In high school he was an accomplished athlete and was on the track and basketball teams. At Capital University he was a member of the respected Honor Guard.

In 1978 he was commissioned into the U. S. Air Force and served honorably for 11 years. He served as a Missile Launch Officer in Kansas where he met his future wife, and a Service Operations Officer in California, Alaska, and South Dakota. While in the military he became affectionately known as Hank.

Hank married Jannifer Louise Wimbley on October 10, 1981 just days after his birthday. Together they are the proud parents of Erin Jamyla and Elise Jonell. Hank was a committed member of Wesley United Methodist Church and member of the Intergenerational Choir. His velvet voice was a significant part of the bass section. He loved singing in the choir and it was a big part of his life. Hank was a devoted and loving husband and father. He raised his daughters in the nurturing guidance of Wesley's ministry. He was an enthusiastic supporter of all his daughter's endeavors. He never missed a game, choir or color guard performance.

His hobbies included fishing and hunting. He enjoyed sharing his passions with his daughters. Hank caught the travel bug while in the military and loved taking his girls on road trips during the summer months. He was a jokester and he thought his jokes were the funniest and he laughed the loudest. Hank's biggest hobby was his girl's hobbies. He actively involved himself in every sport or extracurricular activity they were involved in, even going as far as assistant coaching a team.

Hank left this life on the morning of Tuesday July 19, 2011. He is preceded in death by his father Henry, his mother Mary, and two of his sisters Geraldine and Gwendolyn. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Jannifer; his daughters Erin and Elise; his sister Carol Winsett (Bronx NY); sister-in-law, Gwen Gordan and Billy (San Antonio); brothers-in-law Tony Wimbley and Gwen (Wichita, KS) and Roger Wimbley and Beulah (Prescott, AR) and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
