Katheryn Rogers Traylor was born to Walter and Kathryn Hilliard on June 22, 1946 in Austin, Texas. The second of five children was affectionately known as "Little Kat". She attended Austin Public schools and was a graduate of the Old L.C. Anderson High School and was one of the most beautiful "Jackettes" in the Yellow Jacket Band.

Kat's salvation was established at a very early age and she always made it her responsibility to minister to her children the importance and necessity of having Christ in their lives. Katheryn was a devoted wife, mother, aunt, sister, cousin, friend and confidant to everyone. Her mother "Other Momma" was her best friend and you rarely saw them apart. Kat loved and cherished her grandchildren. Throughout her illness, she was always concerned about each and every one of them. It was important to her to know that their early childhood education had a strong foundation therefore; she had a direct role in their formative lives at an early age. This grandmother's love will radiate in them forever.

Katheryn had a personality that was ever so contagious. Everyone who met her never forgot her, and as a matter of fact you became a part of her extended family. Her warm spirit and gentle smile was the invitation to her heart. Family was so very important to her. No matter what situation or circumstance you encountered, she was there to extend herself in anyway possible. If you were hungry, she fed you. If you needed shelter she provided a place for you to lay your head. And we all know when she had something to say, she said it. Kat's heart was like a diamond; it glowed and will never be forgotten.

Our beloved Little Kat was not a voiceful individual. When she became ill we the family really had no idea just how sick she was. She battled her illness so courageously until the end. She never complained. Oh yes she suffered but, God kept her here for a reason. And when her task was finished, Kat spoke and told her cousin Nathaniel on Saturday June 4, 2011 "I'm ready to go Home" and as she would always do, she quietly made her exit.

Katheryn made her final transition on June 23, 2011 surrounded by family and her many friends. We will forever miss you Little Kat, but will never, ever forget you. Until we see you again. It's not goodbye, but we'll see you later.

Kat's memories are cherished by her devoted husband James Traylor, Sr. She is also survived by her mother Kathryn Rogers Hilliard, children James Howard Traylor, Jr. (Danye), Cedric Traylor, Jacqueline Traylor, Leslie Traylor, Renata Traylor, Kim Traylor, Tonya Traylor and, James Everett Traylor, sisters Shaunder Johnson and Sylvia Williams; 14 grandchildren, a multitude of family members; and a host of so many friends.
