Albert was called home to live with God on Friday, June 10, 2011.

He was born October 3, 1945 in Austin, Texas as the first son of seven children born to the late Albert Flowers, Sr. and Mattie Flowers. He graduated from L. C. Anderson High School and did further study at Texas Southern University, Central Texas College and Huston-Tillotson University.

He was employed at the University of Texas at Austin Police Department for 31 years after reaching the rank of Assistant Chief.

He confessed his faith in God at an early age, was baptized and became a member of the 19th Street Baptist Church.

Albert had a great sense of humor and loved working with and helping people. And though he found comfort and joy in working in the yard and in gardening, his greatest joy was being a grandfather and helping to shape the life of his grandson, Anthony.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Gladys Jackson and two brothers Johnny and Jerome Flowers.

Remaining to cherish his memory are his wife of 42 years, Wanda Flowers; one son, Tony Flowers; one daughter, Crystal Jackson; one grandchild, Anthony Flowers; one brother, Ronald Flowers (Darlene); two sisters, Barbara Hudspeth (Eddie) and Mattie Pannell; one uncle Nathaniel Bradford (Theola); two other aunts Jessie Bradford and Priscilla Flowers as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
