Valerie Elaine Canada Scott

Ms. Valerie Elaine Canada Scott was born November 13, 1953, to Mr. Roy Melvin Scott, Sr., and Mrs. Shirley Mae Canada Kenzie in Austin, Texas. She departed this life May 8, 2011, at Atlanta Medical Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Her parents, step-mother and sister preceded her in death.

She accepted Christ in her life at an early age. She was baptized in 1981 at Yale Street Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, Reverend Holcombe. While in Atlanta, Georgia, she was a member of New Birth Missionary Baptist under Bishop Eddie L. Long since May 2003.

Her education began at A.I.S.D. She graduated from L.C. Anderson High School in 1971. She received formal training from The University of Texas at Austin and Austin Community College.

She was employed by the YMCA, W. 1st Street, in 1974 until 1985 where she was a Membership Director. She worked extensively in the travel industry where she became an entrepreneur as a co-owner of Perpetual Travel, Inc., Houston, Texas. During her residence in Atlanta, Georgia, she worked at Premier Hospice and Classic Community Support. She enjoyed traveling abroad. Her passion was her friends and living her life to the fullest. Her smile will always be remembered and she had a ❤ Heart ❤ of Gold.

She leaves to cherish her memories a daughter ~ Nedra Westelle Scott; a grandson ~ London Rozier Best; a long-term companion ~ Jerod Louis Rozier; four brothers ~ Michael Kenzie, Roy M. Scott, Jr., Kelvin [Teresa] Kenzie, Shannon Scott; five sisters ~ Virlin Blue, Patricia Scott, Jacqueline Scott [Jimmie] Smith, Delores Alexander [Tyrone] Bradshaw, Amy Alexander; two nephews ~ Roderick Sneed, Nathanial Bryant; nine nieces ~ Picole Sneed, Ingrid Jones, Chasity Blue, Camille Blue, LaToya Scott, Ebony Kenzie, Tristin Scott, Diamond Kenzie, Emerald Kenzie; four aunts ~ Mary Burton, Marnette Walker, Ellen Burnett, Dorothy Morgan; and a host of other relatives and friends.
