Limuel "Lim" Hunter, Jr. was the first born son of the late Limuel Hunter, Sr. and Velma L. Hargrove-Hunter. He was born on September 10, 1952 in Austin, Texas. He graduated from Johnston High School in Austin, Texas in 1972. After graduation, he joined the United States Army and was honorably discharged as a War Veteran. Limuel worked at the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners for several decades, until he became too ill to work.

Limuel loved being around family and friends, and loved to eat. He especially loved his Aunt Nita's sweet potato pie. In fact, the entire time he was in the hospital, he talked about all the food he would eat when he was finally discharged. Everyone that knew him was also aware that he loved to talk trash and crack jokes. His laugh was priceless and most people will remember his smiling face by the gap in his teeth, and the toothpick in his mouth. He was also infamous for wearing a rubber band on his wrist to pop himself to deter him from "popping-off" at the mouth. Limuel touched the hearts of many people, from many different backgrounds and walks of life. He especially loved the "bad ones" to teach that there is always someone "badder". He was a joy to be around, and had no problem expressing to people what was on his mind. He said what needed to be said and not necessary what wanted to be heard, but it came from his heart.

Limuel was a man of honor, a man of his word. When he loved, he loved hard. When he fought, he fought to win. Apparently, God won and he has taken his son home to rest.

Limuel is preceded in death by his mother, Velma L. Hargrove Hunter; father, Limuel Hunter, Sr; and two brothers, Rowland Wayne Hunter, and Hameen Abdul Malik "Jack".

Limuel leaves to cherish his memories: his loving lifetime companion, Janice Overton-Hunter; three children, Kriston R. Overton, Keenan R. Overton (Kimberly), and Kendahl Overton; one brother; Christopher K. Hunter; two sisters, Horachael O. Taylor (George)and their children Jaylon Taylor and Italy Taylor , and Tonya Fairly (Carlton); three grandchildren, Korin Park-Overton, Daylynn Overton, and Arym Overton; many God-children; CanDice (Hargrove) Hibbert, Sheila Burt, Annalyce Burt, Tiffanie Burt, Johnathan Burt, Cassandra Davis, Andray Davis II, Xavier Davis, Savion Davis, Darroll Barton II, and Martina Barton; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
