After and unexpected illness and a stay in the hospital, Barbara La Nell Weakly passed away on Tuesday March 15, 2011.

Born April 18, 1951 to James E. and Ida M. Sampson, who preceded her in death, Barbara was the youngest of eleven childrenóJamesetta, Bertha, Dorothy, Doris, Helen, Joyce, Charles, Willie, and Arthur (of which she was preceded in death by Charles, Willie, Helen and Joyce).

Barbara mothered four children (but was mother to several) Bradley, Robbie, Joyce and Clifton III. In May 1971 Barbara met Clifton Weakly Jr. and after a long courtship they were married in March, 1979 and lived together for 32 years.

Barbara was hardworking at whatever task she undertook such as photography, volunteering in school, catering, caring for and feeding the elderly, and especially motherhood.

She attended school in Austin at Oak Springs
Elementary, University Junior High and later Austin Community College.

As a child Barbara united with David Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and later united with First Baptist Church. She had a great love for her family, and was willing to make big sacrifices to ensure their well being.

Barbara is survived by her devoted husband, Clifton Weakly, Jr.; sisters: Jamesetta, Bertha, Dorothy, and Doris; brother: Arthur; grandchildren: Starr, Shay, Ashley, Deon, Quinisha, Deja, Quinton, Areon, Aaliyah, Robbie Jr., and Marcus; great grand child: Ha Niyah and a host of relatives and friends.
