Luther Bunton, II 69, passed away on December 11, 2010. Luther was born October 30, 1941 in Austin, Texas. He was the oldest son of Rev. Eugene and Mrs. Willie Mae Lowe Bunton.

Luther graduated from Anderson High School in 1960 and enlisted in the Armed Services. He served honorably in the Marine Corps and in the United States Army. He retired after completing twenty years of service.

Luther was known for his willingness to share and be the first to serve others with kind words, words of wisdom, financial support, or a place to live. His smile and inner strength gave others courage to face difficult tasks that seemed unbearable.

Luther’s nephews, nieces, relatives and friends called him Uncle Sam, Uncle Bo Bo, Uncle Luther and Big Brother. Each learned the importance of being well organized, honest and to always be prepared.

Luther amazed all in his dedication when allowed the opportunity to serve. All were amazed with his tenor voice when he sang, “You Saw Me Crying In The Chapel”.

Luther is survived by six siblings, Dorothy Jean Trigg, Julia Lee Bunton, Barbara Antoinette Brown, Willie Morris Bunton, Rev. Lawrence Harvey Bunton, Dale Evelyn Bunton; nephews, nieces, other relatives. He had developed many friends in the Belton, Texas Community at Crestview Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
