Eddie B. (Green) Carathers, born July 5, 1925 in Manor, Texas to Godfrey Green and Mary Lowe. She professing a hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized thus continuing her walk with Christ. Freedom Home Baptist Church was her final quest until death. She became a member December 3, 1989, thus serving faithfully as an Adult Sunday School Teacher until her health failed.

Her Preacher's License was received March 18, 1990, thus presenting her first sermon, March 18, 1990 at 7:00 p.m. at Freedom Home Baptist Church, 1144 Gunter Street, Austin, Texas.

She was preceded in death by Leroy Thompson and Elmo Carathers (husbands); by her parents, (stepmother Thelma Darby); brothers Dorsey Cairo and Godfrey Green, Jr.; sister Willie Mae Williams and grandson Johnathan La Kee Thompson.

She leaves to cherish her memory five children: Kenneth R. Thompson, of Round Rock, Texas, Larry Q. Thompson of Austin, Texas, Gloria J. Duvall of Austin, Texas, Waymon Thompson of Austin, Texas and Warren Thompson of Austin, Texas.; one sister, Mildred Carter; 25 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews; four daughters-in-law: Marie, Elsie, Bonita and Pam; and other relatives and friends.
