Mrs. Cecelia Ann Currie was born August 12, 1946, in Austin, Texas to the late Helen M. Collins VanDyke and Samuel Melvin Collins, Sr.

Cecelia attended Austin Public Schools and graduated from the Old Anderson High School. She worked in Human Resources for the Texas Natural Resource and Conservation Commission for over 35 years and retired in 2006.

Cecelia received Christ at an early age and was a member of Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church where she served faithfully on the Usher Board, member of Mission II Circle I. She started the first Greeter’s ministry at Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church under the Pastorate of Reverend Norman Bacon, Pastor Emeritus.



Cecelia is survived by loving family members to cherish her memory. Those surviving family members include loving and devoted husband, E-Thelwood Currie; her children Baron Sauls (Stephanie) (Houston, TX), Rodney Bellinger, (Austin, TX), Kimberly Bellinger, (Austin, TX), Crystal Bellinger, (Brooklyn, N.Y.), and Brandon Bellinger, (Austin, TX); sisters Carol Hawkins (Cecil), Juanita Davis, Evelyn Moss (Robert), Annie Jenkins, and Roberta Thomas; brothers, Samuel M. Collins Jr., Michael Jenkins (Wanda), Robert Jenkins, Jr., and Thomas James Patterson (Bobbie); 10 Grandchildren (Custodial Gaudian Jaylon Bellinger), Anye’ Smith, Baron Sauls, Jr., Bianca Sauls, Denzel Bellinger, Tevin Bellinger, Christian Bartley, Javon Bellinger, Isaiah Martin and Micah Martin; One uncle, Aaron Jones Jr., and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
