Obra Bernard Williams entered this life on May 22, 1950 to Shelton Williams and Leslie Faye Sly. At an early age, Obra gave his life to the Lord and served faithfully as a member at Willie Chapel Primitive Baptist Church. He was called and licensed into ministry in June of 1984.

Obra received his Associates Degree from Austin Community College and matriculated at Concordia University. He served with the NAACP, was an avid poet and loved quoting scriptures of the Bible. Intelligent in his own way, and a smile on his face, Obra was a loveable, kind, and gentle person who never met a stranger.

On December 2, 2010, Obra Bernard Williams entered eternity and into the presence of his heavenly Father. He was preceded in death by his parents, Shelton and Leslie Faye, and one brother, Jesse James Sauls, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory, his sisters LaFaye Price (Royal), Sharon Routt (Rev. Willie Routt, Jr.), Alma Gayle Williams of Austin, and Debra Johnson (Allan) of Temple; his brothers Ronald Lee Sauls, Ronnie Roberts (LaTasha) of Austin, Donald Norman Sauls of Durant, Oklahoma, Shelton Ray Williams (Gloria) of Houston, and Chris Taylor of San Antonio, Texas. He leaves behind his uncles, Olton Douglas Williams, Bobby Lynn Williams of Austin, and Dowell Williams (Lillie) of San Antonio; and one aunt, Joyce Williams Jackson (Charles) of Austin; special nephew Cedric Sauls and caregiver; plus a host of nephews and nieces.
