Clarence Douglas Holt was born March 26, 1949 in Lockhart, Texas to Mrs. Elnora Holt and Mr. Lonnie Maney. He received his education from Lockhart High School where he won "All District Defense Guard (1968)" and furthered his studies at Blinn College and Southwest Texas State.

After working many years as a salesman for Winzer, Inc. (Dallas, Texas), Douglas returned home and was injured in a vehicle accident which left him paralyzed. Although he was a quadriplegic, Douglas went on to volunteer and work for the Texas Rehabilitation Commission for the City of Austin. He was awarded by the City Mayor, "Employee of the Year (1997)". He also worked for the Travis County Constable Precinct Five Handicap parking Enforcement Program where he was awarded "Employee of the Year 2006".

Douglas was a member of the East 19th Street Missionary Baptist Church in Austin, Texas where he remained a devoted and faithful servant until his health began to fail.

He departed this life on Sunday, September 26, 2010. He was preceded in death by his father and sister Marilyn Holt.

He leaves to cherish precious memories his mother, Elnora Holt; his lifelong partner Dena Loftice; three stepdaughters Lea, Laurie and Lonna; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; sister Clara M. Bell; brothers Manuel Holt, Louis Holt, Lowell Holt, and James Holt; sisters-in-law Erma Holt and Betty Holt; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and nephews, many friends and loved ones as part of his extended family.
