Alice Elizabeth Fowler Jones was born in Bishop, Texas to William and Linda Sneed Fowler on September 20, 1924. She was the eldest granddaughter of Jake and Alice Overton Sneed.

She attended Gregory Town Elementary School, Kealing Junior High School and the Original L. C. Anderson High School, where she was named Football Sweetheart.

Mrs. Jones was a lifelong member of the Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church and was baptized by Rev. N. S. Brown. She participated in the Starlight Band, Usher Group Number Two, Mission Number One, and Greater Mount Zion Community Assistance and Referral Ministry.

She united in holy matrimony to Laurie C. Jones on March 23, 1942. To this union one daughter, Pamela Elizabeth Jones, was born.

In February, 1959 Mrs. Jones became an insurance agent with Atlanta Life Insurance Company. She was affectionately known in the community as the Insurance Lady. During her employment at Atlanta Life Insurance Company, she was named Salesman of the Year for two consecutive years. In May, 1987 she retired after 28 years of service.

Active in the community, Mrs. Jones was a member of the Delta Friends and in 2006 was named Outstanding Senior Citizen by the Capital City Chapter of Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc.

She departed this life August 20, 2010.

Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents, William and Linda Sneed Fowler; her husband of 55 years, Laurie Jones; her brother, James Fowler (Baby Brother); her sisters, Ruth Fowler Anderson (Baby Ruth), Minnie Lee Hutchinson and Cynthia Fowler.

Survivors include her daughter, Pamela Jones Williams; her beloved grandsons, Jared Evan Williams and Justin Everett Mitchell; her great granddaughter Cyan Alexandria Williams; one sister, Sharon Fowler; her sister-in-law, Geraldine Fowler; her nephews, Gregory Guster, Keith Fowler, Byron Fowler, Brett Anderson; her niece, Sonya Fowler, great nephews and nieces, and a host of cousins, neighbors and friends
