An angel of the Lord appeared from Heaven at the home going of Ronald Douglas Foster who departed this life on Thursday, August 12, 2010 to rest in peace from his earthly labor to reward.

To everything there is a season and a time to be born, on February 11, 1952, Ronald Douglas Foster was born to Fred and Vernese Foster in Austin, Texas.

At an early age his commitment to seek the Lord and all of his goodness, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized by Rev. J. H. Washington at the Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church in Austin, Texas. After moving to Mableton, Georgia he united with the Elizabeth Baptist Church, where Rev. Craig Oliver is Pastor.

Ronald graduated from the Original L. C. Anderson High School in 1970, in which he played the trombone in the band. His musical talents extended to playing with a small band.

Upon completion of his studies at Texas Southern University he received his Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy. Ronald was offered a Pharmacist position to work for CVS Pharmacy, where he dedicated over 30 years of service. Ronald took great pride in being a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.

Later, Ronald met the apple of his eye, Cathy, who is known as "Cookie" and they were united in Holy Matrimony.

Dignity, courage, faith-filled and strength are words that describe Ronald Douglas Foster.

Intellectual and caring, he was gifted with a strong and sharp mind and had extraordinary love for life and his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Douglas Foster, his grandmothers Irene Nichols and Jessie Dupree Foster, his grandfathers, Thorn Nichols and Charles Henry Foster.

Ronald leaves to cherish memorable times forever in the hearts of his loving wife Cathy J. Foster; three sons, Derrick Foster of Newport News, Virginia, Christopher Foster of Barnesville, Cedric Hemphill of Houston; two daughters, Ashley Foster of Union City, Georgia and Alexus Foster of Mableton, Georgia; his mother Vernese Foster; one brother Donald Foster (Brenda); one sister Janice Hardeman (Daniel) all of Austin, Texas; father-in-law Lavo Binkley; mother-in-law Lillian Binkley of Houston, Texas; and a host of aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
