Pearlie Mae Clark

Pearlie Mae Clark "Pearl" and "Mama" to many, was one of 13 children born to Earlie & Ora Earls on December 28, 1915 in Bastrop County. She professed her faith in Christ at an early age at Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church ministered by Reverend Jones. She is remembered for working around the house humming and singing hymns and always reminding us how good GOD is. At the time of her death she was a member of Greater Love Missionary Baptist Church.

Pearl attended public school in Bastrop County and attended Huston Tillotson for a couple of semesters. She worked as a cook at Austin Municipal Airport and a nurse's aide at Brown School, Travis State School and the State Hospital for a number of years until she retired. Later in life she held positions as a housekeeper and nanny where she met and fell in love with many children she claimed as part of her extended family.

Pearl was very loving and humorous, she had an infectious laugh and a wonderful personality which impacted the lives of many, many people. She loved to laugh, have fun and watch Madea.

She leaves to cherish her memory one sister, Marie Walker; three children, Helen Berry, Patrick Clark and Frances Clark; Guardian to: Arthur Earls, Savannah Gage, Marie Mitchell, Johnnie Fowler, Ricky Earls, Jacquice Earls and Porsche Clark; forty grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; nieces; nephews and a host of relatives and friends.

The Lord called Pearlie Mae home from this life on August 15, 2010 at 2:20 p.m.
