Pastor Johnny Byrd was born to Paul Byrd, Sr. and the departed Elnora Byrd on June 27, 1958 in Madisonville, Texas.

At an early age he professed Christ and joined church at Mt. Arias Baptist Church in Normangee, Texas. He moved to Austin, Texas and joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. O. T. Arnold, Mt. Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. L. K. Jones and his father in the ministry, and later joined Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. P. W. Wallace. In 2005 Pastor Byrd was blessed to become the senior Pastor of the Antioch Community Church in Buda, Texas where he served faithfully until his demise.

Pastor received his certification of ordination from Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church on October 14, 2001. He attended Guadalupe Baptist Theological Seminary School where he was pursuing his Bachelors Degree of Divinity.

For over 22 years, Pastor Byrd was owner and CEO of Byrd's Construction. In 2001, Johnny and his best friend, Karal G. Fields, MPA, combined their talents and resources and launched Byrd's General Contracting.

Pastor Byrd loved to fish and talk to anyone about the love of God. He always had a scripture to back up every message that he shared.

He is preceded in death by his mother Elnora Byrd, four uncles, six aunts, and a loving and caring grandmother and grandfather.

Pastor Johnny Byrd leaves to cherish his memory, his father Paul Byrd, Sr.; five children, Cymone Byrd, Brianca Byrd, Damien Byrd and wife NiaRaba, Johnny Byrd, Jr. and wife Jeana, and Daylon Byrd; one grandchild, Journey Byrd; three sisters, Julia Wilder, Liza Byrd and Mildred Byrd Matthews; one brother Paul Byrd, Jr.; three aunts, Lola Rogers, Willie Flores Mosley and Barbara Spurling; two uncles Tim McClenton and wife Beatrice of Bryan, Texas and Joe Spurling of Marquez, Texas; three nieces, Lakesha Byra, Lanora Bowman, Latrice Matthews; one great niece Alajhi Brown; nine nephews, Leo Wilder III, Milton Byrd, Dougals Byrd and wife Cheryll, Sean Bonner and wife Patricia, Michael Byrd, Lawrence Brown and wife Kelly, Terrance Byrd, Daniel Carson, Lamar Bowman, Spencer Byrd; four great nephews, Markeiz Bonner, Lawrence Brown, Jr., Richard Williams and Ronnie Byrd. He also leaves a host of friends and other relatives.
