Sister Jacqueline Mackey (Jackie) was born to Anna Louise Johnson, and Jacque Cartier on January 19, 1951, in Oakland, California. She was the second oldest child of eleven, seven brothers, Jacque, Pierre, Jean Dupre, Henry, Darryl, Kenneth, Daron and four sisters, Tarawanda, Luanna, Sharon, and Robin Michelle.

She received the Lord Jesus Christ at a very early age being baptized at Second Baptist Church in Fresno, California. With Christ as her Savior, Lord, Protector and Provider, she accomplished great things. Her motto, "I can do all things through Jesus Christ who Strengthens me".

She was united in holy matrimony to Marvin Mackey on May 27, 1986, in San Antonio, Texas.

Uniting with First Baptist Church, Lockhart, Texas, under the pastorage of Reverend Edward M. Fleming, Jackie served faithfully as President of the Choir and member of the Women's Missionary Union. She took her commitment as a servant very seriously. When and where there was a need, there you would find Jackie, at home, at church and in the community. She lived the life she sang and talked about. Jesus Christ was her passion. She was dedicated and committed to His service.

After retiring from IBM and their affiliates, with more than 20 years of faithful service, she continued to achieve. At the time of her death she had returned to school, working toward a college degree.

The welfare of her family was foremost in her heart and mind. Jackie was always a true and faithful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was the example of the virtuous woman spoken about in the Book of Proverbs. Jackie leaves this as her legacy.

Sister Mackey departed this life on Friday, July 16, 2010, as she lived, reaching out to help someone in need. She leaves to cherish precious memories her beloved husband, Deacon Marvin Mackey Sr.; her children, Marvin (Monica), Donald (Sabina), Pamela (Rock), Angela (Robert), her brothers and sisters some of whom she raised and nurtured. Also, left to cherish precious memories are stepchildren, Marvin Jr. (Vivian), Arthur, Rickey (Susie), Grover, Sevelia (Craig), Beverly, Vivian (Charles), Dora (Leo), and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives and friends.

We Love you Jackie but the Lord loved you Best!
Rest in Peace Good and Faithful Servant.
