Mrs. Ada Dallas Jackson was born to the late Earl Dallas, Sr. and Josephine Gooden on March 10, 1927 in Travis County, Texas. She united in marriage on May 31, 1956 to Walter James Jackson, and to this union two daughters were born: Miumme and Ionna, both of Austin, Texas.

Ada confessed a hope in Christ and joined the Pilgrim Rest Primitive Baptist Church at an early age. She attended the historic L. C. Anderson High School. Ada loved to dance and started dancing at an early age under the leadership of Mrs. Rosie Linemoore at Blackshear Elementary School. She was a member of the L. C. Anderson Drill Team and also was voted Miss East Austin. She was blessed with the gift of laughter and could be heard doing so often. She had the heart of a giver and was very generous to those she knew.
