Alma Conley was born April 7, 1947 in Austin, Texas, Travis County to Mr. Robert J. Lee, Sr. who preceded her in death, and Mrs. Dora Dean Lee. She was the second child born of eight children. She had three sisters Norvelene Carr, Alice Lantion and Katherine (deceased), and four brothers Robert J. Lee, Jr., Louis Lee (deceased), Larry Lee, and Bennie R. Lee, Sr.

Her husband, Arthur Conley, preceded her in death in 1999. To this union, one child was born, Laura Conley Garrison, and four stepchildren Jackie Conley (deceased), Linda Conley (deceased), Ricky Gilbert and Daryl Lewis were added.

Alma confessed a hope in Christ at an early age. She united with Rosewood Avenue Missionary Baptist Church. She then moved her membership to Loyalty Missionary Baptist Church before her final move to Unity Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she remained until her death.

On Tuesday, March 9, 2010, Alma departed this life at the Brackenridge Hospital in Austin, Texas.

She leaves to mourn her passing her mother, Dora lee; one daughter, Laura Conley Garrison (Tommy); a very special friend, Alfred Johnson; two stepchildren, Ricky Gilbert and Daryl Lewis; three brothers, Robert Lee, Jr. (Janie), Larry Lee (Paula) and Bennie Lee, Sr. (Larissa); two sisters, Norvelene Carr (Teddy) and Alice Lantion (Gary); grandchildren, Jerelon Garrison, Arthur Baker, Tabatha Conley Clinton (Eddie) and Brandie Grant; nieces, nephews, a special caregiver, Janice Gillespie and a host of other relatives and friends.
