Ruby Lucille Smith, the daughter of Willie Wade Jackson and Carrie James-Jackson, came into the world June 7, 1937 in Smithville, Texas. She united with Craft Prairie Primitive Baptist Church at an early age, and was baptized.

Ruby Lucille was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Austin, Texas under the leadership of late Pastor Joe Dixon. She attended L. C. Anderson High School in Austin, Texas.

After serving in life's most challenging roles as parent CAREGIVER meaning to those who knew her "Tuda" showed affection, love and concern for everybody that met her. Ruby was a GOOD wife, a MARVELOUS mama, mother, grandmother and FRIEND!

Ruby Lucille Smith was preceded in death by her "sweetie" late husband Wilbert Smith. Their holy matrimony began on September 21, 1957 and continued 49 years.

Ruby laid down the load of life on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at the Cedar View Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Austin, Texas and joined the army of the Lord.

She leaves to cherish her memories: six children, Randy Charles Smith (Shaunna), Calvin Eugene Smith (Monique), Wilbert Smith, Jr. (Beulah), Lois Pricilla Simmons (Artie), Alma Ann Smith (Chris) and Peggy Oneil Lofton (Lonnie), all of Austin, Texas; brother, Marcus Jackson (Annie) of Elgin, Texas, Willie Wade Jackson, Van S. Jackson and Randy Jackson of Austin, Texas; sister Pearl Greenwell (Kenneth) of Austin, Texas; one sister preceded her in death, Sewilla Valentine of Christenburg, Virginia; fifteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
