Lois Nell Wells departed this life on Saturday, January 16, 2010 after a two year bout of illness. Lois was born on February 5, 1938 in Austin, Texas, the third child of the late Johnny and Daisy Brown. She attended public schools and graduated from L. C. Anderson High. She completed her higher education at the University of Texas and Austin Community College completing her education in Floral Design.

She married James E. Wells, Sr. on December 1, 1956 and to this union nine children were born.

Lois was saved as a freshman in High school and served under the leadership of Superintendent R. A. Grant at McKinley Heights Church of God in Christ until 1963 when she became a member of the St. John Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Pastor D. C. Monroe, serving faithfully as a foundational member for well over 40 years. She faithfully served as church Secretary, Clerk, Pastor's Aide President, Women's Department President, Sewing Circle, Artistic Fingers, Sunshine Band President, Vacation Bible School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, Finance Committee member and cafeteria worker. She also was a licensed Evangelist Missionary and member of the MLM Evangelist Team.

Her Spiritual journey took her to Faith Cathedral COGIC under the leadership of Supt. D. E. Watson, where she served faithfully as Pastor's Aide President, Mother's Board and District Sewing Circle President. In 2008 she joined the True Vine COGIC under the leadership of Elder N. Davis, she was appointed as Church Mother where she served and loved her church family dearly until her demise.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Daisy Brown, sister Gracie, brothers Eddie Lee Brown and David Byrd.

She leaves to cherish her memories: sons, Mark W. Wells, James E. Wells, Jr. (Carolyn), Vincent S. Wells; daughters, Patricia J. Barnett (David), Lisa M. Wells (James), Lois D. Wells, Carolyn J. Wells, Pamela Y. Brown (Tarrant), Crystal L. Davis (Sydney); twenty-six grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; one sister, Helen Miller (Maurice) of Cerritos, CA.; one brother, Samuel Brown (Barbara) of Los Angeles, CA.; one great aunt, Artie Hill Johnson of San Francisco, CA.; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
