Walter Langdon, Jr. was born in Austin, Texas on February 15, 1927 to the late Walter and Pearlie Mae Benford Langdon, Sr. He attended schools in the Austin Independent School District.

Walter professed a faith in Christ at an early age at Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church. On November 15, 1959 Walter received certificate for membership in the Catholic Church.

He had the distinction of serving in the United States Navy and the United States Air Force. After serving 20 years, he retired from the Air Force with an Honorable Discharge in 1971.

Walter wore many hats. He was Brother, Uncle, Husband, Father, Gramps, and Papa to many. He was Speedy and "my little cousin" to those closest friends. He gave unconditional love and will be missed tremendously by all who knew him.

He departed this life on December 9, 2009 in Austin, Texas. He was preceded in death by his late wife of 41 years, Allie Mae Jennings Langdon, his son, Walter Langdon III, his granddaughter, Nechelle Lynn Campbell. He is also preceded by his five sisters, Velma, Lois, Nellie, Faye and Doris; and his brother O.D., Otis Dell.

He leaves joyous memories to his wife, Sharon Alexander, daughter, Paula Langdon Campbell- Jackson, grandchildren, Natalie Bernice Campbell-Jackson and Langdon Drew Campbell-Jackson all of Austin, Texas. He also leaves a host of many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
