Jacqueline Faye Diggs was born December 29, 1951 in Austin, Texas to Dennis and Louise W. Diggs. Jacqueline (Jackie) attended Blackshear and Sims Elementary School, Allan Jr. High and graduated from Albert Sidney Johnston High School. She received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Arts degree in Human Services Administration from St. Edwards University.

Having attended church all her life, at the age of 12, Jackie united with the Pilgrim Rest Primitive Baptist Church and was baptized by Elder R. H. Howard. Under the leadership of Elder Jimmy Miles, Jackie was a member and President of the Jr. Usher Board, a member and President of Choir II and a participant in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, the Baptist Training Union and local and district association activities. In May 1995, Jackie united with the Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor A. W. Anthony Mays. Under Pastor Mays, Jackie currently served as Vice-President of the Deaconess, Church School Teacher (Teach Us To Pray Class), Coordinator of Single Parents Outreach Activity for the Deaconess, Secretary of Senior Mission I Auxiliary-Lydia Circle, Teacher for Senior Mission I Auxiliary-Lydia Circle, 2nd Vice President of St. John Regular Baptist District Association of Deacons Wives-Senior Mission I and Spiritual Shepherdess and mentor for Titus Ministry of the Mt. Sinai Women's Ministry. Her past service included Coordinator for Mt. Sinai Women's Ministry (January 2001-December 2006), Chairperson for Senior Mission I Auxiliary (4 years), and Vacation Bible School Teacher for the Seasoned Saints. Jackie loved the Lord with all her heart, mind and soul.

Jackie fought a courageous 3 years battle with breast cancer, leaning on the Lord to see her through. She lost the battle, but not the war. Her only marriage was to her devoted husband Wayne Douglas Cook on August 2, 1971. They raised two children, Patrick Lamont Cook and Christopher Wayne Cook, Sr. They were also proud grandparents to Jordan Christopher Fresh-Cook and Christopher Wayne Cook, Jr.

Jackie's father preceded her in death. Left to celebrate her life along with her mother, husband, children and grandchildren are: (all of Austin, Texas) her brothers Jerry Lewis Diggs and Ricci Delane Diggs; her sisters Patricia Ann Diggs Jackson (husband Edward) and Mary Louise Diggs Crayton (husband Vernon); and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
