Robert Lamarr Casey

Brother Robert Lamarr Casey was born on May 31, 1934 in Minden, Louisiana to Arthur James and Eloise Casey. He departed this life on December 1, 2009. Robert was a graduate of Webster High School in Louisiana. He would brag to his darling wife, Dorothy Casey, that he was a star football and basketball player at his alma mater. He talked so much about his fun childhood with such friends as Harry L. Key, Charlie Carter and Clarence Dyas. Robert had an outgoing and friendly personality that when he met you, you were not a stranger to him.

Robert worked at Bethlehem Steel in California for 26 years prior to his retirement. He retired as a crane operator. After retirement, he and Sister Casey moved eventually to her hometown of Austin, Texas.

Robert obeyed the Gospel of Christ in his 11th hour of life at the young age of 73 years old at the Eastside Church of Christ. From his baptism into the Church, he worked faithfully until his health failed. He was often the earliest in the morning to worship with the brothers. He would always say that "I wish I could have worked longer in the church. But the Lord gave me such good friends in the Church and out of the Church and I love them all. They have been good to me."

He leaves to cherish his memories of 42 years together, his faithful loving friend, girlfriend and wife, Dorothy who will always love him and miss him.

Robert is survived by his three sons, Bruce, Aaron (Vickie), and Lamarr (one son preceded him in death); one special sister, Eddie Ruth Warfard of Houston, Texas; one special niece, Doris Ann (Arthur); three brothers, Leonard Jones and Peter Casey (Charlene) of Carson, California and John L. Jones (Rose) of Detroit, Michigan; aunt Ruby Lee Jackison of Detroit, Michigan. He also leaves to mourn his loss two brothers-in-law, Denver Allen (Berna) and Charles Allen; a special cousin-in-law, Mary Washington (Leon); nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
