Debra was born August 28, 1958 to the union of Fred and Annie Rogers, the second of five children.

Debra attended public schools in Austin, Houston and St. Louis, Missouri. After graduation from Reagan High School in Austin, she attended Austin Community College. Debra had a strong interest in the Healthcare profession, where she worked in various administrative positions for many years including 12 years at the Texas Association of School Boards.

Touched by the Holy Spirit at an early age, Debra was baptized at First Baptist Church and sang eagerly in the youth and young adult choirs. Debra joined St. Peters United Methodist Church on October 31, 2006.

On June 4, 1983, Debra was united in Holy Matrimony to Frank Ellis Thomas, Jr. After the birth of her niece Natashja Hardin, Debra and Frank took Natashja into their home and raised her as their own child.

Debra showered all of her nieces and nephews with love and affection and was fondly called "Aunt Dee".

She was preceded in death by her father Fred C. Rogers and her grandparents.

Debra leaves to cherish her memory, husband, Frank E. Thomas, Jr.; daughter, Natashja; mother, Annie G. Rogers of Austin; brother, Edward Rogers (Diane) of Houston, Texas; sisters, Wanda Rogers, Marie Rogers and Cynthia Rogers of Austin, Texas; aunts, Mrs. Virlee Nesby, Camilla McWilliams (Wilson), Ora Lee (Aunt Sis) Jones of Austin, Mrs. Irma J. Gates (Collis) of Killeen, and Gladys Rogers of Giddings; uncle, Sam (Buster) Rogers of Giddings; nieces and nephews, Crystal Govan, Rayna Carson, Natashja Hardin, Japhae Rogers, Cedric Carson, Christopher Rogers, Matthew Rogers, Anisha, Mackenzie, Taylor, Jayden, Jordan and Malik; numerous relatives, friends and her life long friend Linda (Tiny) Clarke.
