Claude Evan "Jim" Ellison passed away Saturday, September 26, 2009, after a long illness, with family and friends with him in the hospital.

Claude was born in Austin, Texas, December 9, 1932 to Walter Ellison, Sr. and Beatrice Hill Ellison. He was the tenth child of ten children. He was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings, Lloyd Junior, Wesley, Walter, Dorothy Marshall, Emmitt and Thelma Lott.

Claude accepted Christ as his Personal Savior as a child and was baptized at the Rising Star Baptist Church. He attended Austin Public Schools. He left (Old) Anderson High School and enlisted in the United States navy to serve his country.

He worked several years for the City of Austin, Sanitation Division and later worked and retired from the State of Texas, Comptroller as a clerk. He was a fun loving man and yet he had a gentle spirit. He loved his family and friends.

Claude leaves to mourn his passing four sons, Ronnie, Claude, Tommy; Paul; a daughter, Gail; granddaughter Shametra McGregor; three brothers, Thomas Ellison, Sr., Henry Lee Ellison (Bayless), Robert Ellison (Jo Ella); special friend and companion, Annie Robinson; many nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
