"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him, should not perish but have everlasting life".

THELMA ELLISON LOTT was born January 10, 1920 to the late Walter and Beatrice Ellison. She was the fifth child of ten children. She was joined in matrimony to Howard Milton Lott on December 23, 1944 and to this union eight children were born.

She attended St. David Missionary Baptist Church and later became one of the founding members of the Alpha Seventh-Day Adventist Church in 1948 and remained until her passing. She served in various offices of the church, Head Deaconess, Sabbath School/Junior Division Leader, Sabbath School Superintendent, Personal Ministry and Investment Leader. An example of her dedication, as Investment Leader for Ingathering, Sis. Lott was the top leader achieving goals set by the Conference before the due date and many times she encouraged and helped others to obtain their goals as well. Even if were possible to remember all the offices in the church she has held, all of the accomplishments and achievements she has made, it would still fall short of describing the woman she was. A woman whose presence on any occasion was a testimony of Christ. A true example of a woman who let Christ work through her. She was soft-spoken, very kind, thoughtful and helpful to all.

Her favorite songs were "Order My Steps"; "When All God's Children Get Together", "Pass Me Not O Gentle Savior" and "Sovereign". Her favorite scripture was John 3:16.

She worked at Newman Hall, a dormitory that served the University of Texas students, where she enjoyed working and formed many friends with staff and students . She also worked for Dr Henry Newman who was noted for his work with the underprivileged and the less fortunate people of the community, and at times he worked for little or no pay. She worked for Austin Independent School District as a Food Service Worker at Austin High and L.C. Anderson (Yellow Jackets) High Schools.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Howard Milton Lott. She is also survived by six children Mrs. Martha Lewis (Burnice), Ella Lott -Moore, Robert Elliott Lott, Samuel Milton Lott, Jeffrey Eugene Lott, and Cindy Elaine Lott; 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, a number of great-great grandchildren; four brothers, Thomas, Ellison Sr., Henry Ellison, Robert Ellison, Sr., and Claude Evans Ellison; a very special friend (adopted daughter) Pam Ellison and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two children, Willie James Bunton and Wilmer Leonard Lott, one sister Dorothy Ellison- Marshall, and four brothers, Walter, Emmett, Lloyd and Wesley Ellison.
