Robert Lee Horton (Chubby) was born August 26, 1956 in Austin, Texas, to the late Hubert Horton, Sr. and Hortense Shaw-Horton. Robert was the 10th of twelve children, the youngest of five boys. He attended the Austin Public Schools.

Robert professed his life in Christ at a very early age and joined St. Stephens Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. B. F. Parmer. He departed this life on September 9, 2009.

Robert was very outgoing and funny, always had jokes. He was a unique person who loved everyone and had a compassionate and peaceful spirit. He never missed calling loved ones just to say, "I love you".

He was preceded in death by both parents, Hubert Horton, Sr. and Hortense Shaw-Horton, brother James Hulon Horton, Sisters Doris Ray Simpson and Patricia Gail Horton. He leaves to cherish his memories daughters Tiffany Horton of California and Stephanie Horton of Arizona; three brothers Harold Horton (Gladys), Ralph Horton (Valerie) and Hubert Horton, Jr.; five sisters, Helen Shepherd (Bernard), Annie Whitley, Betty Johnson, Rita Horton, all of Austin, Texas and Rachel Horton of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren Kya Rutherford, Ladarrius Davis, Nazir King, Adaya White; three uncles Sylvester Grisby of Oakland, California, Frank Robinson of Los Angeles, California, and Johnny Grisby of Fresno, California; and a host of nieces, nephews, a very special friend Blanche Johnson, and a multitude of good and special friends.
