She was preceded in death by loving parents John and Katie Collins, Sr., grandmother Bertha Jones (aka Big Mama), oldest sister Louise Cook, nephews William and Keith Hatch and sister-in-law Yvonne Collins.

Delores attended and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. She also attended Texas Southern University and received her degree in Business Administration in 1984 from Austin Community College.

Delores loved all sports, but her passion was playing basketball. She also loved attending games and track meets of her nieces, nephews and granddaughter. She could be heard yelling and screaming from the sidelines.

Delores accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was baptized and became a member of Winn's Memorial Baptist Church in Elgin, Texas. Later in her life, she joined St. James Missionary Baptist Church where she remained an active member for over thirty years until her death. She was a true warrior for Christ.

Delores was always willing to help out wherever she could. She was honored for "Working beyond the Walls of St. James" delivering meals-on-wheels and working at Lisa's Hope Chest, just to name a few.

Delores was a dedicated and faithful employee for many years, having worked at IBM for twelve years and then moving on to Applied Materials where she worked for three years. At the time of her death, she was employed at Tokyo Electron where she had worked for twelve years.

Delores was loyal, confident, caring and dependable. She truly had a heart of gold. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, aunt, friend and mentor. She was loved by everyone who was fortunate enough to know her.
