Clarice “Lady” Booker transitioned from this life to her eternal life on August 22, 2009. She was born on April 18, 1933 in Bastrop County to the late Roosevelt and Norma Jones-Hunter.

Lady accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in Webberville, Texas under the pastoralship of Reverend Meadows. She was an active member of the Webberville Ebenezer Baptist Church and later the New Light Ebenezer Baptist Church where she served faithfully as a choir member (in the early years), teacher for the mission circle and a member of the Sunday School until her health failed. She attended public schools in Bastrop and Webberville.

Lady married Zennie L. Booker, Jr. on May 7, 1960 and to this union two daughters were born: Adreayn Allisse and Romona Allison.

Lady’s husband, parents, one brother, Charles Hunter, and son-in-law, Maurice Jordan, predeceased her.

Lady leaves to cherish her memory her doting daughters: Adreayn Wilson (Rev. Charles), Romana Jordan; six sisters: Robbie L. Haywood, Ora L Jones, Mary L. Broadnax (Benjamin) all of Dallas; Minnie M. Carrington, Imogene Smith and Eleanor R. Carter all of Austin, one brother Norwood R. Hunter (Wanda) of Houston; sisters-in-law: Edna Hunter, Rosa Booker Hill of Austin; best friends: Ruth Emmanuel and Gracie Batts of Austin and many nieces, nephews, relatives and loving friends.
