Miles Alexander Smith was born on September 1, 1987 to proud parents Amanda Smith and Patrick Green. Miles was a blessed child, who brought joy to his family and friends. Miles was a happy baby, who loved his Mother, his grandparents and he had a very special loving relationship with his Aunt Darlene (DaDa).

Miles began his education at home, because he was such an intelligent child. Miles could already read, when he started pre-kindergarten at Hooks Elementary School. He told his teacher, and proceeded to read a book she handed to him.

The family moved to Austin, Texas and they united with the Mount Zion Baptist Church where the Rev. G. V. Clark was and still is the senior pastor. Miles loved the Lord and at the age of four Miles was accepted into the body of Christ by his confession and Baptism at the Red Bank Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Mitchell in Hooks, Texas. At Mount Zion, Miles served on the Junior Ushers Board and sang in the Youth Choir, as he did at the Red Bank Missionary Baptist Church.

Miles attended Pecan Springs Elementary School, Hope Lutheran Elementary School both of Austin, Texas. He also attended Hill Country Middle School of Westlake, Wallace Middle School of Kyle, and Barton Junior High of Buda. In 2006 Miles graduated from Jack C. Hays High School of Buda, Texas.

Miles always loved music, and was a gifted singer. While in High School, he sang with the Austin Lyric Opera, Organization of American Kodály Educators (O.A.K.E.) National Conference Choir as well as singing at his church.

The sun set for Miles on August 17, 2009. Preceding him in death were his grandfather LaFayette Smith, Sr., great grandparents Amanda & Reuben Burnett, Louise and Edward Chubb, and Mary & John Smith; uncles Rev. Joseph Burnett, Kevan Gooden, and Johnny M. Smith; and cousin Christopher Burnett.

Left to cherish his memory: His mother, Amanda Smith-McCoy, Buda, Texas,; father, Charles McCoy, II, Houston, Texas; grandparents Edelca Smith, Hooks, Texas, and Charles and Mary McCoy, Akron, Ohio; aunts Marilyn Hubbard, Delois Smith, Martha Smith, Deborah Woods, and Sophia Darlene Smith, Hooks, Texas; Wanda Gooden, and Sandra Renee Huey of Texarkana, Texas ; uncles LaFayette Smith, Jr., Hooks, Texas; Odis (Janet) Holloway, Phoenix, Arizona; Benny (Iberia) Smith, Orange, Texas; and Ronnie (Sharon) Smith, Amarillo, Texas; great-aunts Ruby Stone and Mary Burnett, Kansas City, Missouri; and Barbara Burnett, Hooks, Texas; great-uncle Robert (Betty) Burnett, Forney, Texas; special cousins Arielle Gooden, Raquel Woods, Phillip Gooden, Brandon Woods, Adam Anthony, and Benny Smith, Jr; and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.

Services entrusted to A Life Celebration by Franklin, Taylor, Texas.
