Benny Ray Howard (Pee Wee), 59 of Austin died Saturday, August 8, 2009. He was born on May 1, 1950 in Austin, Texas, to Rev. Arthur Gene Howard and Ida Jean Howard.

He attended Austin public schools and graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work from Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas. While in college he played football and was named most valuable player.

Benny was united in holy matrimony to Brenda Baker, October 28, 1976, in Austin, Texas. To that union one son was born Corbin Ray Howard. He was a good husband, father and friend to many people.

His career began as a social worker while being employed at the Austin State School. He later became Director of Residential Services at Marbridge Ranch and was motivated to start his own business to become Executive Director of the Texas Residential Services in Austin, Texas.

Benny volunteered as a coach for youth league football and baseball. He was a loyal and active member of many sport organizations.

His brother, Randolph Howard, preceded him in death.

He leaves to mourn his passing a devoted wife of almost 33 years, Brenda Baker Howard, one son, Corbin Ray Howard and one grandson, Marquis Corbin Howard of Buda, Texas, his loving mother, Ida Jean Howard and devoted father, Rev. Arthur Gene Howard of Austin, Texas, one sister, Doris Howard (Min. Roy H. Howard, Jr.) of Kyle, Texas, and three brothers, Douglas Howard of Georgetown, Texas, Min. Clarence Anderson (Willie Bea Anderson) of Arlington, Texas, Eric Howard (Jalia Howard) of Austin, Texas, and a host of relatives and friends.
