Lula Mae Jones-Alexander was born on December 22, 1920 in Manor, Texas to John Monroe and Dovie Easley Monroe.

She attended the Manor Independent School District.

She united in Holy Matrimony to Sammie Jones and later years she married Edward Alexander. They both preceded her in death. She had four children, two boys who were twins and two daughters.

She joined the Park Spring Church in Manor, Texas under the late Rev. Charlie Jones. After her family moved to Austin, Texas she joined Greater St. John Baptist Church under the late Rev. Wallace. In 2006 she moved her member ship to St. Luke's Missionary Baptist Church. She attended church until her health began to fail.

Forty-five years ago her doctors had given her up after she suffered a stroke. She kept the faith in the Lord and the Lord raised her up and healed her body. She went on to raise her 4 children and to see several generations of grandchildren. We thank God for demonstrating his marvelous healing powers in her life. She maintained her faith through her trials and tribulations. She went on to live beyond threescore years and ten. The family says Amen to God's work in her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandson, John Anthony Jones, her son John Jones, her brother Jessie Monroe, Sr. and her daughter, Dorothy Fowler-Buchanan. She was surrounded by her loved ones when her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ called her spirit from her body to come home with him.

Lula Mae Alexander's life displayed her faith in God by loving, trusting, giving, serving and enduring.

She leaves to cherish and honor her memories her loving daughter, Gloria Primm (Donald Primm); her loving son Joseph Jones; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Lola Monroe; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
