Ed Johnson, Jr. was born May 5, 1930 in Meeker, Louisiana to Ed Johnson, Sr. and Ida Richards. Both parents preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by one brother Frank Johnson, Sr. and one step sister Delia Adams.

Ed attended primary and elementary schools in Bunkie, Louisiana and continued his education at South Alexandria School in Alexandria, Louisiana.

Ed joined the United States Army at the age of fourteen and served his country for 23 years, 8 months and 23 days, He was honorably discharged October 31, 1971 and was a Bronze Medal recipient.

Ed relocated to Austin, Texas in November 1971 for OJT and was employed by Appliance Associated. Ed could not vision himself working for someone else for the remainder of his life, so he decided to start his own business. This was the birth of Ed's Appliance and Refrigeration Service. Ed rendered services to Austin, Pflugerville, Round Rock, Georgetown, Manor, Kyle and Buda for 38 continuous years.

On September 13, 1973, Ed Johnson, Jr. united in Holy Matrimony to Dorothy L. Thomas and to this union two children were born. He was preciously married to Mary Tyler.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy Johnson; nine daughters, Didra (Robert), Susan (Jeffree), Tracey, Saturday, Phyllis all of Austin, Texas, Charmaine (Ben) of Dallas, Texas, Edith (Walter), Felecia and Wanda of Marietta, Georgia; eleven sons, Bobby (Florence) of San Antonio, Texas, Terry (Annette) of Austin, Texas, Raymond (Johnnie Mae) of Del Valle, Texas, Ed III (Tiffany) of Cedar Hill, Texas, Melvin (Verlyn) of Waco, Texas, Kalvin, Otis, Donald, Gregg, Kevin (Margarita), Wayne, all of Marietta, Georgia; 44 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; one sister, Rosa Lee Bell of Bunkie, Louisiana; three nieces, Barbara of Austin, Texas, Dorothy Arnold of DeRidder, Louisiana, and Rhonda Michelle of Alexandria, Louisiana; one nephew Gregg Bell of Bunkie, Louisiana; and a host of great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

Services entrusted to A Life Celebration by Franklin, Taylor, Texas.
