On August 31, 1913 Rosa Lee was born in Austin, Texas to Fred and Lottie Hill. Her childhood was filled with love, respect and discipline.

April 1927 she confessed Jesus as her Lord and Savior and was baptized by the late Rev. R. B. Canady and united with the 19th Street Baptist Church.

Rosa Lee attended Austin pulic schools including the old Anderson High School. On September 2, 1931 she married Spencer H. Bunton, Sr. One son was born of this union, Spencer Bunton, Jr. who preceded her in death.

Sis. Bunton was no stranger to church attendance as this was instilled in her at an early age and continued until she could no longer attend church. She became a part of the Mt. Zion Church Family in 1951 under the leadership of the late Rev. S. A. Davis where she worked without ceasing.

Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and her knowledge, The Youth Department, Jr. Choir, President's Council and BTU were organized under her direction. She joyfully served as teacher (Class #5) for more than 20 years in the Sunday School Department. She also served as President, Senior Missionary Society for over 21 years. She worked with the Junior Missionary Society as Vice President of the St. John Regular Baptist Jr. Women's Society. Sis. Bunton also served in several civic organizations including being an active Eastern Star for over 30 years.

On Wednesday, April 29, 2009 in the quietness of her room at the Heritage Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, God, in His infinite wisdom, dispatched His Death Angel and removed our friend to be with Him.

Ms. Bunton was preceded in death by her son Spencer Bunton; daughter-in-law Doris Walker; grandchildren Brenda Favors, Spencer Bunton, Jr., Wanda Fay Bunton; great great great grandsons Michael and Phillip Favors and Brandon Felix.

Ms. Bunton, lovingly known as Mee-Mee to her family, leaves to celebrate her life great grandsons Anthony Favors, Joseph Clay, Gregg Thompson, Corey Easley, Spencer Bunton, Michael Thompson; great granddaugthers Sharon Favors, Aretha Easley, Shannon Short, Tasha Johnson, Theresa Johnson, Shirley Gipson, Karen Bennett, FiFi Smith; and a host of many great great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
