Johnny Daniel Hardeman was born on August 13, 1948 to Acy Hardeman, Sr. and Ada Lane in Austin, Texas. He departed this life on April 26, 2009 at Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas.

He attended schools in the Austin Independent School District until he left in 1967 to enter into the U. S. Army. His first tour of duty was in Viet Nam. He went to Viet Nam for two more tours. While in the Army he earned 2 Purple Hearts, 2 Bronze Stars, 2 Army Commendation Medals. He also served as a pall bearer for President Harry Truman.

Later in life Johnny united with St. Luke Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Ivie J. Rich. He was a Deacon in training, served on the Usher Board, was a member of the male chorus, and participated in many church activities.

Preceding him in death was his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Acy Hardeman, Sr.; three brothers Acy, Jr., Clarence and Joseph.

Johnny leaves to celebrate his home going Barbara Hardeman (devoted wife); one son Christopher Hardeman; three daughters Dana Hardeman, Pamela Hardeman Murray, LaTisha Hardeman Anderson; one sister Addie Sneed (Elijah); five brothers Hollis, Donald Ray, James, Charles and Harry Hardeman; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; goddaughter Charletta Maxwell, all of Austin, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews and many, many friends.
