Sherri Denise Sutton was the oldest of seven children born May 25, 1959 in Austin, Texas to C. L. and Cora Sutton.

She graduated from L. C. Anderson High School in Austin, Texas and attended Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas

On February 20, 2009 Sherri departed this life at St. David's South Austin Medical Center in Austin, Texas at 11:06 a.m.

She was met on the other side by son, Sedrick Dwayne Sutton; father, C. L. Sutton; grandfathers, Almus Davis and Siddell Sutton; grandmothers Sammie Lee Sutton and Cora A. Davis; and a host of other aunts, uncles and cousins.

Sherri accepted Christ at an early age at Grant Chapel A.M.E. Church. Later she moved her membership to First Baptist Church, under and later rededicated her life under the leadership of Reverend Henry McGee.

Sherri enjoyed singing, attending church, and helping others in any way she could. She was always a member of the choir of the church she attended as well a member of the Citywide Choir of Austin.

She leaves to cherish her memories and celebrate her home going, her mother, Cora Evelyn Sutton; three sisters, Corlette Dickerson, Angela Harper (Bernard), and Tonya Sutton-Pitcher (Glynn); three brothers, Clifford, Douglas, and Almus Dwayne Sutton; seven nieces and nephews, Candice, Ciara, Chris, Taylor, Akela, and Jaylen; two great-nephews, Elijah and Isaiah; and a host of other relatives and friends.
