Mrs. Veola Wilson Foster was born July 20, 1921 to Leonard Wilson and Mattie Wilson of LaGrange, Texas.

Mrs. Foster was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Isaac Harris and to this union eight children were born. She later married James L. Foster.

Sis. Foster professed a hope in Christ at an early age Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church under the late Rev. Reeves of Thrall, Texas. There she served as an usher for many years. Later she joined David Chapel Baptist Church of Austin, Texas. She was a member of Mission One and the Nurses Ministry and served as the advisor to the nurses.

She departed this life on February 5, 2009. Veola was preceded in death by her father, mother, brother Joe Wilson, son Richard Harris, daughter Lena Russell, son-in-law Tommy Jackson, Sr., granddaughter Debra Harris and great grandson James L. Jackson, Jr.

Mother Foster's memory will be cherished by her daughters Mary Harris of Austin, Texas, Ivola Jackson of Taylor, Texas, daughter Joyce McNeal of Round Rock, Texas, Bertha Wright of Elgin, Texas, Sharon Riggins of Round Rock, Texas; son Rev. Earl Harris (LaVerne Harris) of Crockett, Texas; stepson James L. Foster of Austin, Texas; niece Dorothy Belcher; nephew Cecil Harris of Austin, Texas; faithful daughter-in-law Ruby Harris of Austin, Texas; twenty-four grandchildren; over forty great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; special friends Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Mack; and a host of relatives and friends.
