Josephine Dukes Wilson was born 28 October 1935 to Mahue Dukes and Clara Hunter Dukes. She departed this life Sunday 10 January 2016 at Seton Medical Center. May she rest peacefully in God's care.

Josephine professed her faith in Christ at an early age and soon after united with the New Hope Baptist Church. She later joined the First Pentecostal Church where she continued to follow Christ's footsteps.

On 10 June 1956, Josephine was wed in holy matrimony to Mr. Samuel Martin Wilson. From this union, four children were born: Vernell Renee, Michael Lynn, James Martin, and Becky Dawna.

Josephine attended the Austin Independent School before graduating from the Original L.C. Anderson High School. She was first employed by the state of Texas at the Austin State Hospital in the Food Service Department as a Food Service Attendant and then by the Maxwell Airforce Base, Base Exchange in Montgomery, Alabama. She then worked at the Austin State School, where she remained for 23 years. Employed initially as a Food Service Attendant, Josephine was quickly promoted to Supervisor. At the time of her retirement, she had dedicated herself to direct patient care, tending to disabled and handicapped patients.

She was preceded in death by her parents Clara Dukes and Mahue Dukes, sister Hudie Porter, and cherished uncle Limuel Hunter.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 59 years, Samuel Martin Wilson; four children Vernell, Michael, James, and Dawna; two sisters, Georgia Bell Flowers and Alma Marie Mason; bothers-in-law Alex Porter and Melvin Mason, 12 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

May Josephine's love of family and faith continue.

Services entrusted to A Life Celebration by Franklin, Taylor, Texas.
