Dawn Todd was born on May 9, 1944 to Eugene Crawford and Lucille Scott. She attended Austin Public Schools. "Diane" as some called her, accepted Christ at an early age. She was baptized at the age of 12 at Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church by the Reverend S. L. Davis. As an adult, she was a member for years at the First Baptist Church on Heflin Lane. She later joined St. Stephens Baptist Church where she remained until God called her home on Monday, September 28th, 2015.

Dawn truly loved doing anything she could for others. She enjoyed gardening, decorating, shopping, cooking and spending time with her family; especially her four grandchildren. She was good at all the things she enjoyed. Her yard always looked like the "yard of the month." Her home was always clean and decorated beautifully. She could shop till she dropped, whether it was in a store or from TV (QVC); and didn't mind shopping for others with her money and/or yours. Anything she cooked was delicious and she loved doing for her grandsons and giving them advice. Her dog "Parker" was special to her and she loved him being her shadow.

Dawn retired from IBM where she worked 30 + years.

On October 5th, 1963, she married Billy Ray Todd Sr. Together they raised 2 kids, Andrea (Tinkea) and Billy (Ray Ray). She always enjoyed having her kids around and looked forward to having family gatherings.

Dawn was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, James Scott, Edward Scott, Jesse Scott, and Donald Ray Sauls.

She is survived by her children, Andrea Easley (Mike) and Billy Todd Jr. (Doris), her siblings, Gloria Alexander, Wanda Scott, Gladys Durhams, Edwin Scott, Charles Scott, four grandsons, Billy Todd Jr. III., Brian Todd, Andre Easley, Bryson Todd, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
