Mrs. Willie Lee Hardin Roberts was born on July 20, 1916 in Travis County, the first child of Beulah
Thompson and Henry Hardin. She departed this life on September 15, 2015. She was the older child born to this union which also produced a younger sister, Henrietta, who died as a baby. She grew up in the Creedmoor area and attended Pleasant Valley Schools.

She was united in marriage to Louis Vincent Roberts, Sr. on December 26, 1935 and had six children from this union. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age and was baptized at Pleasant Valley
Missionary Baptist Church. She served faithfully and was the Mother of the Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister – Norris Overton Darby, brothers – Smith Overton Jr. and John C. Overton, son – Louis Vincent Roberts Jr. and daughter – Mary Alice Roberts Hargrove. Although Willie Lee worked various jobs, she spent much of her life as a devoted and supportive wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked tirelessly supporting her family by: acting as a taxi driver (picking up grandchildren from school); taking her grandchildren to doctor's appointments; caring for grandchildren during summers; providing a place to stay when there was a need; keeping a stock of ice cream and watermelon for anybody passing through; providing an ear to listen, and most importantly praying for her family. One of Granny's most notable achievements was her drive and ambition to return to school and receive her G.E.D. from Reagan High School in 1979. She served as an inspiration to all and illustrated the importance of an education, no matter what your age.

To cherish her memory Mrs. Willie Lee Roberts leaves to celebrate her memory her sister Alice Jean Overton, brother-in-law Paul Darby, sons, Ronald Ray Roberts, Lester Earl Roberts Sr. (Carolyn), Henry Steven Roberts, daughter Willie Marie Roberts Hardison (Oscar), daughter-in-law Queen Ester Roberts (Louis Vincent Jr.- deceased), cherished "adopted" daughter Eula Lee, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, great-great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Flowers may be delivered to Austin Peel and Son Funeral Home on Friday, September 25.
Services entrusted to Dr. Barry J. W. Franklin, CFSP and A Life Celebration by Franklin, Taylor, Texas.
