Clem  Bateman (CB) Lewis

Clem Bateman Lewis "CB" was born May 2, 1927 in Austin, TX to Leonard Douglas Lewis and Madeline Bateman Lewis.

He married Juanita Burton and to this union, two sons, Steven Anthony Lewis and Clem Michael Lewis were born. Clem Bateman Lewis later married William "Bill" Bolden.

During his early age he professed a hope in Christ and united with the Peaceful St. James Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorage of Reverend Dr. John T. Townsend, in Austin, Texas.

Clem Bateman Lewis served in the U. S. Army for 20 years, and retired at the rank of E7 Platoon Sergeant in July 1969.

Clem Bateman Lewis was a dedicated employee at the Gary Job Corp Center and retired after many years of service. He was also employed as a Security Guard at various locations in the Austin area.

Clem Bateman Lewis was preceded in death by both of his parents, his wife "William "Bill" Lewis., and sisters, Lorine L. Lewis Smith and Ruby A. Lewis- Townsend.

Clem Bateman Lewis leaves to cherish is memories, his two sons, Steven Anthony Lewis and Clem Michael Lewis of Austin, TX. One granddaughter, Keisha Rivers (David) of Dallas, TX. Two grandsons, Cedric A. Lewis of Austin, TX and Jared A. Lewis of Chicago, IL One great granddaughter, Jordan Rivers and one great grandson, Nile Rivers. A devoted daughter -in-law, Barbara Lewis. His special niece, Madeline Lee, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Flowers may be delivered to Austin Peel and Son Funeral Home on Thursday.

Services entrusted to Dr. Barry J. W. Franklin, CFSP and A Life Celebration by Franklin, Taylor, Texas.
