Maxine Sutton Manor

On Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 9:00 pm, God dispatched his angles to bring his daughter, Maxine Sutton Manor home. Maxine was very well known in the Austin community for her huge heart, amazing spirit and distinctive style and elegance.

God blessed Maxine's parents Siddell Sutton and Sammie Lee Hyder with her birth on December 5, 1947.

She attended schools within the Austin Independent School District, graduated from L.C. Anderson High School in 1966 and attended Houston-Tillotson College.

Maxine accepted Christ in her life at an early age and joined Sweet Home Baptist Church (Austin, Texas) under Rev. Holland. Her Christian life was reflected through her membership at First Baptist Church in Austin, Texas under Rev. Vernon Manor and later joining Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church (Austin, Texas) under Rev. A.W. Anthony Mays where she faithfully served on the Hospitality Committee as well as serving as Vice-President of Sarah's Circle. Upon moving to the Dallas, Texas area in December, 2014, Maxine became a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church (Plano, Texas) under Rev. Isaiah Joshua.

On August 16, 1978, Maxine was united in holy matrimony to Lucious Manor.

Maxine's gift of fashion, style and interior design led her to become the proud owner of Tic Tac Toe Boutique (in honor of her late nephew Marin L. Sutton) and coordinator of various social events including weddings, receptions, fashion shows and church functions. She worked for various agencies within the State of Texas including the Comptroller of Public Accounts and The Bureau of Vital Statistics before going to work for the City of Austin. In later years she was a loving private duty nursing assistant to many.

Maxine leaves to celebrate and cherish her memory her loving daughter Tiffiney Sutton Rogers, her caring son-in-law, who was a son to her, Amon Rogers, her precious grandson (who she often bragged about) Jackson Rogers, sisters Flora Kendle and Delores Sutton, special niece Jacquese Sutton, "Aunnie's Boys" Sedrick Glaze, Joshua Martin, Charles "Trey" Arnold, Kendle Anderson, two sister-nieces Jennifer Jones and Cornell Sutton and aunt Betty Jean Hyder Smith.

Flowers can be delivered on Friday, May 22nd, 4PM-7PM at Austin Peel & Son Funeral Home, 607 E Anderson Lane Austin, TX 78752.

The suggested colors for The Celebration Service are lilac & cream.

She pre-detailed her services and entrusted them to her personal beloved Funeral Director Dr. Barry J.W. "The Shepherd" Franklin, CFSP, @ A Life Celebration By Franklin, whom she referred to as "My Other Husband".
