Jessie Ray Fennell passed away peacefully on September 12, 2014. Jessie was born in Luling Texas on January 15, 1938 to the late J.C Fennell (Big Daddy) and Susie (Corley) Fennell. Jessie Ray was the third son born out of four boys. In 1944 Big Daddy met and married Geneva (Walker) Fennell who actively became the step mother to William Lee, Robert Louis and Jessie Ray. Their fourth brother Charles Wayne passed away shortly after birth.

The family lived in East Texas (San Augustine) where Jessie attended school until his senior year. The family then relocated to Austin where Jessie completed his senior year at L.C. Anderson High School, class of 1955. It was then that Jessie met and married Sandra (Hunt) Fennell. To this union two children were born.

In 1955 Jessie enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was stationed at the U.S.N.A.S., Alameda, CA. After completing his military duties Jessie worked for United Airline while attending Golden Gate University. In 1968 Jessie received his Masters of Business Administrations and his Bachelor of Science in Accounting. With his degrees he later worked for Haskins & Sells as an accountant and then later went on to work for the SF Housing Authority and finally retiring from the Bay View Hunter Point Community Development.

Preceding Jessie in death are both his parents, his stepmother, all of this brothers and his one Sister Beverly Mosby. Best Friends Jeff Pruitt, Philip Martin and Tom Moore.

Jessie was someone special to everyone. His laughter and memories will linger in the hearts of his children, Alexis J Fennell of Vallejo, CA, Jessica R Fennell-Turner (Chris) of Atlanta, GA, Jonathan R Fennell of San Francisco, CA and Andrea J Fennell of Pflugerville, TX. Two Grandchildren Catalaya & Cayden Turner both of Atlanta, GA. His adopted Grandchild Darnetta Duree of Pflugerville, TX, One Aunt; Odessa Fennell-Saunders of Miami, Fla. His Nieces: Tamara Fennell-Francis and Alisa Fennell-Collins both of Austin, TX and Pamela Roundtree of San Antonio, TX and a host of other great nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Besides Jessie's family he also leaves behind good friends, some of these friends Jessie has been friends with since his elementary school days in San Augustine, TX to his final high school days in Austin, TX, to some of the friends that he has acquired during his adult years. Regardless to when and how they met, they still never lost communications after all these years; Virginia Hewett (Tuttie) , Sue Johnson, Hazzie Jones, Ruthie Winn, Lorand and James Sublett, Betty Holman, Lilly Jones, Nettie Davis, Margaret Brown, Herman Clark, Faye Porter, Calvin Boyer, Cammie Lane, Lertise Grace, Sylvia Baker, JC & Katie Alexander, William Alexander, Annie Ray Alexander, Jesse Bell Mercer, Jacqueline Alexander, Helen Martin and The Class of 1955.

Although Jessie lived in Pflugerville, TX he remained an active member of the Soul Brothers Motorcycle Club of East Palo Alto, CA since 1978. Jessie will always be remembered by his brother. Special Thanks goes out to Tears, Spark Plug and Shirley Scott for being there to the end. Jessie loved his "Brothers" from the EPA club and all the surrounding chapters. He loved to Party and was always on the dance floor. The club house was his home away from home. He is at peace now riding hard with Kuumba & Butch.. RIP Paw-Paw.
