June 7, 1923, a baby girl was born to the late Daisy Porter and Vennie Davis, Sr., in Austin, Texas. Known to everyone as Frances, she was educated in the Austin Independent School District.

Frances met and married Isiah Washington and together raised 16 children. The entire family grew up in and remains members of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. While at Mt. Zion, Frances served throughout the church, including Sunday School, Training Union, Mission, and wherever needed. She also served as Vice President of Deaconess. After her health failed and she was unable to attend church, Frances continued reading her Bible daily. If you would visit her, you would find her sitting in her favorite chair reading her Bible or working on crossword puzzles.

On Sunday, September 21, 2014, with God's blessings bestowed upon her, God welcomed Frances to His heavenly home to be with Him throughout eternity. She lived 91 beautiful years and was the longest living family member.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Isiah Washington; three children, Aaron Washington, Linda Joyce Washington and Roy Washington; and granddaughter, Sharon Washington.

To cherish her memories are her children, Robert Washington (Joyce), Rev. Frank Washington (Alma), Florine Moore, Julia Williams, Arthur Washington (Edna), Woodrow Washington, Carl Washington, Martin Washington, Clarence Washington (Moncheire – fiancé), Mary Darlene McClintock (Rev. Raymond), Darryl Washington (Juanita), Ernestine Clark (Leon), and Mary Moore; brother, Donald Billingsly; and brother-in-law, Rev. Waller Shuler; 32 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren, and 43 great-great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Extended family members are Ella Clark, Lola Albert, Evelyn Padgett, Renee Scott, Milton Guyton, Kathy and Albert Black, Marnette Walker, Mallinee and Rev. Noah Diggs, Pat Williams, Linda Williams, and Carmen Lacount.
