Delmaris Hill Roby was born November 28th , 1922 in Lockhart, Texas. She was the sixth of fourteenth children born to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Clay Hill. Delmaris attended schools in Austin Independent School District. She united in marriage to Omphia Roby in 1941; this union produced two children, Shirley Ann Roby Redmon (deceased) and Edward L. Roby.

Delmaris worked several jobs throughout her career. She was most proud of her work at Wing Ons Chinese Café and her position as head custodian at Campbell and Ridgetop Elementary schools. She often said her time working at Campbell and Ridgetop that she taught students. She taught them how to be good citizens and hard workers. She retired from Austin Independent School District after twenty plus years of service.

Delmaris was blessed to live a full, happy and rewarding life for 91 plus years. Before she stopped driving, in February 2012 at the age of 89, Delmaris was actively attending and participating at Simpson United Methodist Church for sixty five years. She was a member of the Women's and Senior choir, United Methodist Women, communion Stewarts, Clothes Closet Outreach Ministry, and the Adult Sunday School class. In 2004 she was recognized by the Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc., Capitol City Charter at their Grand Salute Senior Recognition Program. She also attended Conley-Guerro Senior Activity Center, where she was exercise leader, sung in the Conley-Guerro Choir and was recognized for her volunteer hours for several years during the city-wide recognition ceremony. Delmaris took swimming lessons in the summer with the center at Mable Davis Pool and could be found with the bingo and domino group every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. After she stopped driving she still attended church and the center regularly, along with several monthly events, her last event was the Mother's Day Celebration — Hat Show along with the Mother's Day church service 2014. Delmaris was a member and enjoyed experiences and work with the Alpha Kappa Sigma Philos of Sigma Gama Rho Sorority. She attended many of their city, state and national meetings during her 44 years of affiliation with the organization.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Henry Clay Hill and Sophonia Carter Hill, her husband Omphia Roby, her daughter Shirley Ann Roby Redmon, her brothers and sisters, Lois Hill, Gracie Hill, Henry Lee Hill, Fred Douglas Hill, Nokomis Tippins and Barbara Burleson.

She will be forever loved and will always be remembered by her family: son; Edward L. Roby (Nettie), grandchildren: Pamela Redmon Long (James), Washington, D.C., De'Sean Roby , Austin, TX, Kevin Redmon (LaKeisha), Los Angeles, CA, Antorri Roby, Houston, TX; great granddaughter, Parker Redmon; son-in-law, Charles Redmon, Henderson, LV and sisters; Aurelia Harris, Los Angeles, CA, Coline Knox, New Orleans, LA, Grady Goodly, San Antonio, TX, Cora Houston, Corpus Christi, TX, Savannah Louise Hill Dorris, Austin, TX, Marilyn Hill Curry, Austin, TX; brother, Reverend Milton Hill (Jennifer), Austin, TX; brother-in-law, Jesse Roby, Jr., Detroit, MI and a host of nieces nephews, cousins and life long friends.
