Alberta McCarther Allen was born on June 27th, 1945 to Mr. Albert McCarther and Mrs. Lillie Ward McCarther in Austin, Texas, where she spent her childhood and adult life.

Alberta met and married Mr. Dennis Allen who preceded her in death. She was a very spirited person who left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She enjoyed family, life, laughter and music. She was always ready to provide a smile when it was most needed. Alberta was a very caring and nurturing person who spent her life willing to take care of others. She also reveled in the opportunity to travel and see the world, traveling to exciting places such as Paris France, Heidelberg Germany, and the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Colorado Springs, Colorado just to name a few.

Alberta always had a fun time playing a friendly game of bingo or cards and she loved collecting elephants (with the trunk up of course) as this is symbolic of good luck. She recognized the importance of having Christ present in her life which led her to become a member of Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church. On Monday, March 24th, 2014, God called her to come home to enjoy her new life, and she answered.

Alberta was preceded in death by her husband Dennis Allen, her father, Albert McCarther, mother, Lillie McCarther, son, William (Tookie) McCarther and her brother Curtis Smith.

To cherish her precious memories are her children: son, John McCarther (Peggy) - Kyle, Texas, daughter, Renee Easley (Mark) - Temple, Texas, son, Keith Allen Jones - Austin, Texas and step daughter, Dianne (Grooms) Wingwood (John) - Dale, Texas. Four sisters, Mattie Richard (Russell) - Austin, Texas, Katherine Ekiko (Vincent) Missouri City, Texas, MaryAnn Ali -Austin, Texas and Annie Sorrells (Michael) - Austin, Texas. Three brothers, Yusef El-Amin (Otelia) - Baltimore, Maryland, Korim Muhammed, and Abazz Nu-Man (Adela) – Austin, Texas; grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
